Born into a musical family of Turin, Casella completed „La donna serpente“ 1931 after a play with the same title by Carol Gozzi from 1762. Until now the opera has been performed from the manuscript score. For the upcoming premiere at the Teatro Regio di Turino we engraved the conductor‘s score.
